PROTECTING YOUR EYES FROM THE SUN
While spending time outside has numerous health benefits, the sun can harm our eyes without proper protection. The sun’s UVA and UVB rays have been linked to everything from generalized ocular discomfort after a day in the sun to the development of more serious issues like cataracts.
PRACTICE PROPER SUN SAFETY
Sun exposure can permanently damage our eyes, making sunglasses essential when spending time outdoors. The sun’s UV rays have been linked to the development of age-related macular degeneration, which can cause vision loss and blindness.
BETTER SUNGLASSES, BETTER PROTECTION
Sunglasses help protect our eyes from the sun’s harmful rays, but not all sunglasses are created equal. Only lenses with 99-100% UVA and UVB protection will properly shield your eyes. Sunglass lenses should also screen 75-90% of visible light. We can help find the right sunglasses for you at your next appointment.
